In my first year at Guildhall, I composed the score for the graduation animation 'Leap', created by Linxi Huang (RCA). In the film, a cat living in an ideal, but regimented, garden world escapes in order to find freedom. It eventually is seduced by a toxic plant, before being saved by the gardener. The animation explores ideas of freedom, purpose and finding your identity. I wanted to create a psychadelic and unnatural score that would capture the strangeness of the cat's world and the trauma that it endures.
